Striking an unmarked underground utility can be catastrophic. Meyer Land Surveying uses ground penetrating radar (GPR) and electromagnetic locating equipment to detect and map subsurface utilities before excavation begins — protecting workers, infrastructure, and project schedules.
What is Utility Locating?
Striking an unmarked underground utility can be catastrophic. Meyer Land Surveying uses ground penetrating radar (GPR) and electromagnetic locating equipment to detect and map subsurface utilities before excavation begins — protecting workers, infrastructure, and project schedules.
Meyer Land Surveying has delivered utility locating services across Southern California since 2015, combining licensed expertise with state-of-the-art technology to produce precise, compliant, and timely results for every client.
How We Deliver Utility Locating
Records Research
Available utility records, as-built drawings, and 811 markings are gathered and reviewed.
Surface Marking
Existing utility locates are marked on the surface and recorded as the starting point for GPR investigation.
GPR Data Collection
GPR equipment is systematically traversed across the investigation area, collecting continuous subsurface reflection data.
Data Interpretation
GPR data is analysed by our trained technicians to identify utility signatures and determine approximate depths.
Mapping & Reporting
Located utilities are surveyed and mapped in plan view with depth estimates and confidence ratings.
Representative Projects
West Hollywood Utility Mapping
Mapped approximately 5 miles of signals and underground utilities for the City of West Hollywood.
Southern California Logistics Airport
GPR utility locating within active runway and taxiway areas at SCLA.
